2017 New year's day came and went, but it was well spent
New year's day came and went, but it was well spent.
I didn't come up with resolutions. I've been learning so much about myself and I'm feeling content with life, but only because I see things clearer now. My last post, 8 Lessons 2016 Taught Me, pretty much sums up where I'm at. I'm making more time for my loved ones this year. I want to do more things that enrich my spirit and bring me closer to the world. I'm down for a turn-up once in a blue, but right now I'm committed to staying focused. There are projects I want to complete and foundations I want to build. This year, I have to manifest more of what I want to see in my life. 2016 taught me a lot and provided ample moments for me to reflect and also solidified who I am and what I have to offer. I know my purpose and right now I'm encouraged to pursue my dreams.
Ideas struck like lightening bolts in 2016; both old and new now have room to flourish. I wasn't afraid to take it slow, and I took part in some activities that rejuvenated my soul when it needed to be. I see now that most of us are trying to fit into where we are and grow without limits. This year and the last half of 2015 was about unlearning what I thought I knew and remembering some of what I had forgotten.
Two weeks into the new year and I'm fully committed to self love. From the fluoride free toothpaste to the Azetec healing clay mask I have been itching to try, I'm going to prioritize my needs. Whatever it takes, even if it's just a moment alone with my own thoughts or repeating positive affirmations, the purpose is to consciously take steps to care for yourself and form habits that help to restore and maintain balance in our lives. That's the place I'm striving to get to.
I'll take at least one day out of the week to care for myself. That way I can comfortably make time to be helpful to others, and have the energy, rationality, spirituality and clarity to fulfill my dreams. This year feels promising.
