Found Reflections, Pt 2
Found Reflections are a glimpse back into time. These are my thoughts captured at particular moments, usually stored somewhere in a journal, on random loose leaf paper or even as saved drafts in my email. I appreciate that my old writings provide comfort and reassurance to me in the present, and I always seem to find them right when I need them.
I am excited and I believe I am in the right place. Life is truly what you make it – cliché, but true. I understand exactly what it is I am here to do, but let’s hope I am able to stay on the positive track I seem to be on now. I know I can be extremely sensitive at times, feeling and thinking deeper than most people. Things seem to be okay for now. I just have to keep my head up and hope for the best. Who knows what the future has in store for me. I know that by the end of this all I will have learned about myself, as I always do. Strangely, I never surprise myself—sometimes I actually do. I’m here to better myself and continue to learn about the world and learn from the people around me. I just hope I remain focused and positive, because that’s all I really need to get by.
Right now, I'm working as a receptionist and I'm determine to eliminate the petty distractions in my life so I can really make something of myself and live out my highest potential. I'm working on having more fun and treating myself more gently.
This may sound pretty heavy, but honestly, I have spent most of my time thinking about my life and where it's heading. I know I'm young but I also know I'm not getting any younger. I like to have fun, but we all know life is not all fun and games. If you want to live the good life you have to work hard for it. Anything worth having doesn't come easy. I've been extremely blessed throughout my transition from college to living on my own in Albany, but the road has not been easy. I am grateful for all the lessons I've learned. My heart is open.
